I've only been playing kendama seriously for 5 and a half years, so it's obviously rather early for me to be releasing a solo video, so I apologise for my hastiness. However, I hope you enjoy it, including some of the original tricks therein. Comments and ratings both here and on JTV are appreciated. And if you'd like to share the URL, please feel free. :-)

If your playback device can manage it, please watch in HD and fullscreen to ensure the tricks hit your eyes with full force. (You might want to use JTV's Slo-Mo button for a couple of them too.) Trick list (Spoilers!) is in the video description on the JTV page: [noembed]

Great video Void, love it.

Some super hard stuff delivered with flair, panache and wit.

Very nice indeed - hope it's not 5.5 years until you do another!

Great video, love the editing and the funny details as much as the tricks :)

Well, not really, hanging slip-grip special is awesome.

"only been playing kendama seriously for 5 and a half years" -> for all those people that upload their first edit after a month :)

I'm closing in on my five year mark and I'm nowhere near that level. Great stuff Void. I loved those fishing tricks, they seem quite challenging. Also the 'banking' tricks, not something you see that often and you really nail them. The string roll-up is one of those things I do when sitting down with a kendama, never knew there was a trick in there :)

Time for me to try some of these, it's gonna be a kendaful weekend :)

The tricks are ,of course, awesome but the punny title is something else! Loved it.

The Void

Thanks gents.

Kev - You never know, it could be!
shalafi - That comment is aimed at no-one but myself.  :)
HansNickmans - I didn't either until the day before I filmed that. I was idly fiddling with a kendama whilst chatting to friends, and it popped into my head that there might be something there to work with...
Ian F - Who'd've thought you'd like a pun?  ;)

So good to see a solo videos from you man. You bring the technical side out with your personality slapped all over it, I love it!  ;D

Was loving the tapped stunt plane. Just looked awesome.

Mucho Respecto!

Great edit, serious tricks and lots of jokes.

liked it!

donald grant

Yay, great edit!  Nice mix of tough skills and subtle variations (3.46 is a nice one!)  Well worth a rewatch or two ......

PikWik

very nice,

you already know you got the skills void. impressive aresenal none-the-less!

could you upload this to the youtube sometime? all of the j.tv videos ive watched here have a stutter every minute or so. im guessing its a framerate conversion issue or flash/java conflict, but everything is up to date on my machine, software wise. youtube videos play fluidly without and skips or sudden pauses though

BrandonYoder

This is awesome!
Loved it the whole way through...wish it was on youtube instead of JTV...i cant post JTV videos on KendamaDrama.

Thanks chaps!
mreasyguy That's "Tap-Tornado Scoop Spike". I had to film that one twice. The first time it took about 20 minutes, only to discover the tape had ended just too soon. Fortunately I got it 3rd try on the second tape. :)
PikWik No, I don't want it on YT or anywhere else. Have you tried all the things suggested on [noembed]http://juggling.tv/help[/noembed] ?
BrandonYoder We were just looking at this the other day. It seems the standard JTV embed code works on most blog sites[nb]Does it not work on yours at all?[/nb], but when viewed on an iOS device, you just get a blank space where the flash player would be. We have just added a workaround solution to the JTV embed code to add<br /><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-2"><a href="http://juggling.tv/3" target="_blank">Life's Little Iron Knees</a> <-- Please go to JTV for iOS playback</font>. That will give a link for iOS users to visit. You could also add<br /><a href="http://juggling.tv/3" target="_blank"><img height="90" src="http://juggling.tv/thumb/0_3.jpg" width="160" alt=""/></a> if you wanted an image to show. Replace "3" in each case with the VID for any given JTV video (from the standard JTV URL).

Thanks dude. Glad you enjoyed it. :) I don't think of myself as especially creative, but it's nice to come up with a few things here and there, as well as to evolve from stuff other people have done. Screwdriver = K.Cima's trick. Side Parting = Neil Smith's (but the exit was mine). Fishing = Donald's concept, I took it to "the other ridges". A lot of other stuff is "just' combinations, but I was pleased to have come up with Bucket In The Well and Tap-Tornado stuff.

Yeah!....I thought it was pretty creative! You don't usually see tricks like that done by kids in the Kendama Community so it was cool to see some new stuff being done.
