Clear coat on bare wood?

Anybody know if this would be a good idea? I want to paint the top half of my natty folken with primer and color coat and clear coat but leave the bottom as natty witha clear coat. Does anybody know if it's a good idea to clear coat bare wood? I want to kind of make it like the sakura pearl. Thanks

that will work just fine. just dont try and paint all the layers at once. be patient and wait between coats
